The S12 speaker features three-way dual 12" loudspeakers - the latest dynamic airflow cooling technology, as well as replaceable rotatable waveguides for directional adjustment, two high-performance 4" voice coil 12" neodymium magnet cone drivers, the S-12 can meet the sound reinforcement needs of large spaces, and all S-Series loudspeakers retain 5.S's signature high-fidelity sound and precise directivity.
The S-12 is designed for fixed installation applications with 5. S's custom mobile suspension, which can be deployed quickly and easily in any venue. The mid/high frequency driver of the S12 consists of two coaxially mounted annular diaphragms, which are designed so that the entire radiation area of the diaphragm is physically close to the respective voice coils. Unlike conventional dome compression drives, this close proximity allows the diaphragm to operate in a controlled 'piston' motion; The end result is incredibly precise playback of huge bandwidth signals, drastically reducing distortion to almost incalculable levels—even at high voltage levels.
